FMP Week 1

Peter Houlihan

Alright the first photographer that I love is called Peter Houlihan who does wildlife photography and nature, which I find really fascinating. An example here is a one of his pictures which is the scarlett macaw and these are one of my favourite birds as they’re so colourful! IMG_20190306_223941

The other pic is the forest from Madagascar which he took a picture of, I know this was more of natures acts but he gets perfect timing of his pictures. IMG_20190306_224045.png

Luc Delahaye

Luc Delahaye is a French war photographer and his photography shows of nowtimes of wars, for example I have one of his pics here which was off the Jenin refugee camp. The destruction around the these refugees and it looks like theres no hope for them.

Now a bit about myself, I choose photography because Im a deep person, like for the pic  I took of my bag and edited here Is because im mostly on a lonely road and everyone from my past has gone…all of my friends, apart from family they’re the only people I have left from the start. (see what I mean by getting too deep) but continuing I mostly do landscape photography, I wanted to do photography as a GCSE but there would be no chance of me doing it as so many people signed up for it. Sunlight is probably my best friend when it comes to photography but sometimes becomes an enemy. which I believe common within the photography community.

I have also done game photography…only from the Spider-man game and a few others like Far Cry 5 and Forza games. I also want to do photography so I can learn of others and see their point of view at photography and learn new type of it.

Here are some pictures that I took in video games which I thought looked cool, These include games from Far Cry 5, Grand Theft Auto V, Batman: Arkham knight and For Honour. These are a wide range of nature/landscape shots which have inspired me for when I go to Dungeness,

Peter Meade is a photographer who went to Dungeness and took photos of the landscape, he also filtered his photos to black and white which is something I might consider with some of my shots.

This is probably the most likeable picture I’ve done which was taken in Grand Theft Auto 5 on a hill, this is a screenshot from my Xbox 1 and has inspired me to try and get a real life shot like this facing towards the sun, which is not normally a conventional thing to do.

Reflection update

Dungeness isn’t going to work as a location because of major family issues, this has now prevented me from going there and gives me a limited amount of transport which has forced me to find other landscape locations as Dungeness was my original plan for my work, other than that my other photos are still interesting and I like the concept of miniature figure photography which should cover the majority of what Dungeness was going to be in my project.

On week 1 I was planning ideas about Dungeness and game photography too, I still have some game photography to do and I plan to take some photos in Far Cry: New Dawn as thats what I had planned originally. I did plan landscape shots so there are still more photos to be published.

Overall I’m happy with the pictures I took and hopefully my photos will improve as I learn more about my camera and how it works. I have read the booklet and looked up how to do close up shots and landscape shots which has been helpful in me taking specific shots. I also experimented with how far the camera could zoom to create a variety of pictures.
